About TVChannelsGuide.com

TVChannelsGuide.com is an independent reference for TV channel lineups across cable and satellite providers in the United States. The site was originally launched in 2023 and completely rebuilt in 2026 with a new data architecture and interface. It is built and maintained by Manikandan, a solo developer based in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu, India.

The site focuses on US providers because the US TV market is uniquely fragmented, with dozens of providers, market-specific channel numbers, and lineups that change frequently. That makes it both the hardest case to organize and the most useful place to consolidate accurate data.

Why this site exists

I've maintained TV channel lineup data for years. The underlying problem hasn't changed in that time: provider websites bury channel information behind sales funnels, the data genuinely varies city by city, and there's no single comprehensive source for "what channel is X on Y in my market." The information exists, but it's fragmented across provider sites, sales-driven aggregators, and partial third-party listings, never organized into one searchable reference. The 2023 version of this site was a first attempt at consolidating it; the 2026 rebuild is structured around the lessons that version surfaced.

Coverage

As of May 2026, this site tracks:

  • 3,152 channels across news, sports, entertainment, kids, premium, lifestyle, and international categories
  • Spectrum: 62 markets with full tier and package data
  • Xfinity: 44 markets across 31 states
  • Optimum: 43 markets with channel numbers and HD pairings
  • Cox: 31 markets
  • DirecTV and DISH Network: national lineups (channel numbers are identical nationwide)
  • Verizon Fios and additional regional providers: planned next

New markets are added as source data is verified. Each lineup page shows when it was last reviewed, and existing data is checked against provider sources continuously as networks rebrand, providers restructure tiers, and local affiliates change channel positions.

How the data is verified

Channel numbers are sourced directly from each provider's own zip-code-based lookup tools and official channel directories: Xfinity's channel finder, Spectrum's market lineups, Optimum's channel lookup, Cox's channel guide, DirecTV's national programming guide, and DISH Network's channel directory. Multiple sources are cross-referenced where possible, with strong preference given to provider-direct data over third-party aggregators, since aggregators tend to fall behind when networks rebrand or providers restructure their lineups.

When discrepancies appear between sources, the provider's own current data is treated as authoritative. Errors do happen, and corrections from readers have already caught real mistakes. If you spot one, please let me know.

What this site is not

TVChannelsGuide.com is not affiliated with Comcast, Charter Communications, AT&T, DISH Network, or any other TV provider. It does not sell TV service, take referral commissions from providers, or recommend one provider over another. The goal is accurate channel data, not lead generation.

Advertising

This site is free to use and supported by Google AdSense. Ads are clearly labeled and kept distinct from editorial content. They never influence which channels, providers, or markets are covered. Decisions about what data to collect and how to present it are made independently of any commercial relationship.
